I assumed the role of Executive Director in April 2022. My journey in the realm of Early Childhood Education commenced back in 2009 when I earned my diploma. Since then, my professional voyage has been marked by diverse experiences within the childcare sector. These experiences include serving in Family Community Support Services in Edmonton and Leduc County, dedicating two years to working on Disney Cruise Lines as a Youth Staff and Training Coordinator, and venturing overseas to Australia to contribute to a childcare environment.
My association with our Society dates back to 2017, during which time I have assumed various roles. Out of all the roles I've undertaken, my current position as Executive Director holds a special place in my heart. I grew up in Athabasca, and now has lived back home for 8 years.
In addition to my professional commitments, I proudly embrace the role of a single mother, with two children who actively participate in our programs.
I am deeply committed to supporting our community and look forward to contributing for many years to come.
I have worked at WHDCS since 2017. Once I started my job here, I knew I wanted childcare to be my career. I received my ECE diploma in 2021, Since then I have filled in twice for the program director position and it has greatly enhanced my knowledge of how our program runs.
I love my job and I can honestly say coming to work is something I look forward to. The children make me Laugh and I love helping them further their development.
I am also a farmer who enjoys his cows and the never-ending work on the farm. I also love playing
sports, I play on a hockey and baseball team. Being an ECE educator is a passion of mine. My mom put me on the path of childcare, and I am grateful that she did. I am now a part of an awesome team that has exceptional knowledge in the ECE world.
I'm proud to call Athabasca my hometown. I currently serve as the Family Director at Whispering Hills Daycare Society, a role I've been fortunate to hold since June 2022. My journey into this position has been nothing short of amazing!
My connection with working alongside children in Athabasca started back in 2015, when I embarked on my career in childcare. Since then, I've invested in my professional growth, earning a diploma in Early Childhood Education in 2018 and a degree in Child and Youth Care in 2020.
Being a part of this program is not just a job; it's a genuine privilege. I am overjoyed to be part of the Athabasca community, working hand in hand with families and children. My lifelong passion for nurturing young minds and supporting families has come full circle as I get to do what I love right here in my hometown. How thrilling it is to make a positive impact in this close-knit community!
